Caitlin Fielder brings her multi-faceted talents, interests and media to CHAPTER2 Artists Edition.

ATHLETE MEETS ART

We are honoured and privileged to kick off our Artist Edition Collection with Caitlin Fielder. A natural fit, she is the embodiment of our key values: art, cycling and New Zealand.

Beyond this, Caitlin is a wonderful artist, adding a multi-faceted dimension to her vision.

“One year it was George’s birthday, he asked if I could paint a pair of shoes for him, he wore them in the tour de france and the rest was history. I had a lot of people messaging me afterwards asking if they could send me their shoes. Over time it organically grew into my full time job.”

ONE VISION

A deep rooted love for New Zealand connects Caitlin and CHAPTER2 at the core. Through this collaboration we pay tribute to our home, using the symbol of the native silver fern.

Caitlin sourced real ferns in the Abel Tasman National Park. Cutting them out and applying them to a 3 dimensional collage on the frameset. Only 50 will ever be produced of this exclusive design.

Commissioned painting for a client of a stage in 2016 Tour de France. This was one of his favourite moments of the 2016 season.

KORU

The Koru (Māori for ‘”loop or coil”’) is a spiral shape based on the appearance of a new unfurling silver fern frond. It is an integral symbol in Māori art, carving and tattooing, where it symbolises new life, growth, strength and peace. Its shape “conveys the idea of perpetual movement,” while the inner coil “suggests returning to the point of origin”.

TOA which means “to be victorious, win” in Maori delivers an all-out, no-compromise carbon fibre race-ready frame platform designed, engineered, and manufactured to the most exacting standards.

Sporting a T47 Bottom Bracket for easy maintenance, the aluminium BB Shell works in unison with the high-tensile carbon carefully laid into the BB area to increase stiffness by up to 8% over the TERE. Additionally, the use of a Latex mandrel for the whole front triangle has increased the Headtube stiffness by 34% over the TERE for that out of the saddle and power to the pedals moment.
